Every story has a beginning, including the first moment you fall in love with your newest family member! This session is perfect for welcoming home a new puppy or a freshly adopted rescue, focusing on the bond forming between pet and family.
How will this story unfold? Who knows! How did this story start? We know!
For puppies and kittens less than 8 weeks of age, or before their first vet checkup, it's best to stay at home in their own backyard or cozy room to keep the risk of exposure to diseases as low as possible. Those cleared by their vet who have received their rabies vaccine can choose any location their little hearts desire!
For newly adopted pets, the 3-3-3 Rule outlines the typical phases they go through as they settle in. First 3 days: they're overwhelmed and in shock from the change of environment, and need time to decompress. First 3 weeks: the shelter or rescue stress fades as they begin to see this house as their forever home, and behavioral quirks begin to appear along with playful boundary pushing. First 3 months: your pet builds trust, feels secure and acclimated to the household, and typically chooses their person. Some pets are comfortable quickly and some need a little more space and time. Let me know the details, and we'll coordinate the perfect time and place for their perfect beginning!
